I look carefully, just like you,
But I don't see what you say you do.
You tell me the glass is so full,
You say it's more than enough.
Why can't I see the same?
Why is it so tough?
All I see is the emptiness,
I see what could have been.
You shrug at me, you say,
I'll see what you have seen.
Time goes by and seasons pass,
Our previous meeting was not our last.
Life's been good, say I to you,
You've changed, I see, so have I.
I tell you to see the beauty,
But you don't look me in the eye.
I can see the beauty in the glass half full,
I don't see the emptiness of that day.
You sigh and ask why it's so empty,
I smile, tell you you'll see again,
Someday.
